Medicine and Therapy

About Me

I LOVE MY JOB AS A NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST AND IT IS INCREDIBLY REWARDING
TO SEE HOW MY CLIENTS' HEALTH CAN BE IMPROVED JUST BY A CHANGE TO THEIR DIET.

I have always loved food and cooking but after having my children I became more interested in how diet could directly influence our health.
I studied nutrition at degree level with University of West London and have a BSc in Nutritional Medicine.

I have now been practising as a Nutritional Therapist for over 8 years and it is a joy to see how much my knowledge has been able to help
not only my own health but also that of my clients, friends and family.

A few years ago I began to suffer with peri menopausal symptoms and to be honest it was a bit of a shock!
I couldn’t understand why I was gaining weight, feeling low and had no energy. I took a step back had some tests done and realised that it was my hormones!
As soon as I made changes to my diet and lifestyle things started to improve.

This validated my opinion that our nutritional needs alter as we pass through the stages of our life.
What was good for us in our 20s and 30s is not necessarily the right fit in our 40s and 50s - our bodies change and the food we eat needs to too!

Nutrition is an evolving science and we are still discovering different ways of how what we eat can impact not only our overall health but also how we think and feel.

Professional

MY DEGREE INVOLVED SIX YEARS OF STUDY
INTO NUTRITION MEDICINE.

Nutrition Medicine is a science-based field of health care.
The qualification focused on a functional medicine approach to nutrition and the therapy that
I practice addresses the importance of individual variations in metabolic function that derive from genetic
and environmental differences. I have extensive experience and training in clinical practice and deal with the
primary prevention and underlying causes of symptoms. Only nutritional therapists
and some dietitians are trained in clinical practice to give one-on-one personal health advice.

I am consistently improving my education by attending training programmes,
seminars and conferences to keep up to date with the latest trends and research on health and well-being.
